How to Find and Clear Warehouses
The dungeon layout, the boss fight, the loot tables and the safest way to clear them with friends.
What warehouses are
Warehouses are dungeon-like structures scattered across the Scrap Mechanic world. They are larger and more dangerous than ruins, but they also drop the best loot in the game. In the 1.0 chapter, every warehouse roof hosts a Trash Bot boss arena, which is the most reliable source of rare parts.
How to unlock a warehouse
Warehouses are locked. To open one you need a Warehouse Key, which only drops when you defeat a Farmbot. Farmbots are tough: bring at least 50 Spud rounds, full health and a clear line of sight. If you are solo, build a 3-block tall sniper perch first and shoot the Farmbot from above.
Once you have the key, drive to the warehouse entrance and click the door. The door opens and the dungeon becomes hostile territory.
Inside the warehouse
The interior layout is procedural but consistent:
- Ground floor — loot rooms with Pineapple and Broccoli crates, plus Schematic pickups. Lightly guarded.
- Mezzanine — Tapebot nests and conveyors. Carry a Spud Shotgun for close-range fights.
- Roof — the Trash Bot boss arena. Bring Spud Guns, Spud Launchers and pre-placed cover blocks.
The Trash Bot drops rare components that unlock every Craftbot schematic added in 1.0. It also drops cosmetic skins for your vehicles.
Loot tables by tier
| Tier | Where | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Ground floor | Pineapple, Broccoli, common schematics |
| Advanced | Mezzanine | Refined metal, rare components, Spud Shotgun parts |
| Boss | Roof | Trash Bot parts, Plasma Drill schematic, rare skins |
Solo vs multiplayer
Solo clears are possible but slow — the Trash Bot has 5 phases and each one teleports. Multiplayer lets three players split the phases: one tanks, one kites, one repairs the cover blocks.
The 1.0 patch improved multiplayer prediction, so desyncs during the Trash Bot fight are rare. Bring at least one Spud Launcher per player for the final phase.
Why warehouses matter for late-game progression
Warehouses are the only consistent source of:
- Pineapple and Broccoli seeds (the best food in the game).
- Plasma Drill schematics (the underground mining endgame).
- Schematicbot recipes for late-game Craftbot parts.
If you plan to tackle the underground, clear at least three warehouses first. Each one provides a piece of the puzzle.
Common warehouse mistakes
- Going in without a Spud Gun. Haybots and Tapebots will overwhelm you.
- Skipping the roof. The Trash Bot drops are mandatory for late-game progression.
- Forgetting a Battery. The dungeon is dark and your headlights draw agro.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Do warehouses respawn?
Yes, but only after a server restart or a manual world reset. Loot chests refill and the Trash Bot respawns.
Can I sneak through a warehouse?
Partially. You can avoid the ground floor by climbing the exterior walls, but the roof and Trash Bot cannot be skipped.
What level should I be before attempting a warehouse?
Bring at least a Spud Gun, 100 Spud rounds, a Spud Shotgun and full metal armour (or its in-game equivalent). The Trash Bot one-shots unprepared players.
