How to Use the Cornade

Explosive corn for clustered bots — without burning down your farm.

Last updated:

What the Cornade is

The Cornade is a throwable explosive introduced around the Drilling Thunder combat pass (previewed in Devblog #26 and shipped with 1.0). It shines against clustered bots in warehouses and outdoor nests where a single Spud Gun shot is too slow.

Warehouse and nest tactics

  1. Clear sightlines before you throw — Cornades bounce and can roll back.
  2. Soften Tapebot packs from doorways, then push with Spud Shotgun.
  3. Save Cornades for Trash Bot add waves or dense floors on the warehouse clear route.
  4. Never toss near parked wooden vehicles or crop boxes.

Fire and self-damage

Explosions ignite flammable blocks. Metal corridors are safer than wood bases. Read fire and lava before bringing Cornades home from a warehouse run.

Loadout tips

  • Hotbar: Spud Gun + Cornades + healing food.
  • Pair with Spud Launcher splash for outdoor Farmbot packs.
  • Restock through farming and trader loops after big clears.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Do Cornades use potato ammo?

No. Cornades are consumable explosives separate from Spud Gun potato ammo. Stock both before long warehouse runs.

Can Cornades damage me?

Yes. Throw from cover and backpedal. Close-range cooks can kill you and ignite nearby wood.

Are Cornades required for Trash Bot?

No, but they help clear add waves. The boss still needs focused damage on weak points — see the Trash Bot guide.
