How to Clear Warehouses
Floor-by-floor tactics, recommended loadouts and the Trash Bot roof fight — with embedded walkthrough.
Before you enter
Clearing a warehouse is the mid-game milestone that unlocks Pineapple seeds, Plasma Drill schematics and late-game Craftbot recipes. If you have not found a warehouse yet, read how to find warehouses first.
Minimum loadout
| Item | Quantity | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Spud Gun | 1 | Primary weapon for Tapebots |
| Spud rounds | 100+ | Ground floor and mezzanine |
| Spud Shotgun | 1 | Close-range Tapebot nests |
| Warehouse Key | 1+ | Unlocks the door |
| Battery + headlights | 1 set | Interior is dark |
| Cover blocks | 20+ | Trash Bot roof arena |
| Revival Burger | 3+ | Boss phase recovery |
For the Trash Bot specifically, see how to beat the Trash Bot.
Phase 1: ground floor
- Enter through the front door with your Warehouse Key.
- Clear Haybots in the entrance corridor with the Spud Gun — they have low HP but swarm in pairs.
- Loot Pineapple and Broccoli crates on the ground floor. Do not skip these — they are the best food source until you build automated farms.
- Collect any Schematic pickups glowing on shelves. Scan them at the Schematicbot back at base.
- Locate the stairwell or conveyor to the mezzanine.
Tip: Ground floor bots respawn slowly. Clear the room completely before looting so you are not ambushed from behind.
Phase 2: mezzanine
The mezzanine is the hardest non-boss floor:
- Tapebot nests spawn in clusters of three. Use the Spud Shotgun at close range — Tapebots are glass cannons but hit hard.
- Conveyor belts can trap your vehicle. Leave vehicles at the ground floor and proceed on foot.
- Rare components drop from mezzanine crates. Grab refined metal and Spud Shotgun parts.
If you are low on health, retreat to the ground floor, eat a Revival Burger, and re-enter. Bots do not chase between floors aggressively.
Phase 3: roof — Trash Bot boss
The roof triggers the Trash Bot encounter automatically when you step onto the platform.
- Pre-place cover blocks before triggering the boss. L-shaped metal walls give you peek angles.
- Phase 1-2: Trash Bot charges in straight lines. Dodge sideways and shoot the glowing core.
- Phase 3-4: The boss teleports between corners. Assign one player to watch each corner in co-op.
- Phase 5: Trash Bot enrages and spam projectiles. Use Spud Launchers and stay behind cover.
Defeating the Trash Bot drops the rare components needed for Plasma Drill schematics and several Steam achievements.
After the clear
- Return to base and scan new Schematics at the Schematicbot.
- Plant Pineapple seeds from the ground floor loot.
- Mark the warehouse on your mental map — it respawns loot after a server restart.
- Repeat at the next warehouse. Most players clear three before attempting Excavation Island.
Solo vs co-op clearing
| Approach | Time | Difficulty |
|---|---|---|
| Solo | 25-40 min | Hard — boss phases require precise dodging |
| 2 players | 15-20 min | Medium — one tanks, one DPS |
| 3-4 players | 10-15 min | Easy — split floor coverage |
For co-op role assignments, read how to play multiplayer.
Common clearing mistakes
- Entering without full Spud ammo and retreating mid-dungeon.
- Bringing a vehicle to the mezzanine — it gets stuck on conveyors.
- Skipping ground floor loot and running straight to the boss.
- Fighting the Trash Bot without cover blocks pre-placed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Can I leave and re-enter a warehouse mid-clear?
Yes. The door stays unlocked until the world resets. Bots on cleared floors respawn slowly but you keep collected loot.
How many warehouses should I clear before the underground?
Clear at least three. Each one drops a different piece of the Plasma Drill schematic chain.
Does the Trash Bot scale with player count?
Slightly. The boss has more HP in multiplayer but the phase pattern stays the same.
