Scrap Mechanic 1.0 Steam Achievements

Overview

Scrap Mechanic 1.0 added 34 Steam achievements — the first official achievement roster in the game’s ten-year Early Access history. Achievements track Survival progression, Creative builds, bot defeats, and Drilling Thunder story milestones. They are Steam-only; console or future ports may differ.

View live progress on your Steam achievements page. This wiki groups them by activity so you can plan a single playthrough that unlocks most trophies without grinding Creative separately.

Building and vehicles

Achievement (EN)	How to unlock
My first car	Build and drive any vehicle with a seat, battery and wheels. Completes naturally during getting started or Builder Quest 2.
True mechanic	Place a Craftbot and craft ten unique parts. Use the Baby Craftbot on a vehicle to finish while travelling.
True mechanic genius	Build a contraption with at least 50 connected blocks using bearings and controllers. See controllers and sensors.
Helpful builder	Complete three optional blue Builder Guide projections beside the crash site.
Spectacular Mechanic	Launch a vehicle off a ramp and travel 100 blocks airborne. Easier with suspension from vehicle design.
The Stuntman	Survive a fall from 50 blocks in a vehicle without destroying the seat.

Combat and bots

Achievement	How to unlock
Totebot Junkyard	Destroy 50 Totebots in one Survival world. Farm daytime raids near your base.
Haybot Junkyard	Destroy 50 Haybots. Plains and forest roads spawn them reliably.
Farmbot smackdown	Defeat a Farmbot without taking melee damage. Kite with Spud Gun from a perch — see bots and combat.
Master of defence	Survive raid wave 5 without losing a crop cell. Requires farm protection layout.
Trash Bot takedown	Defeat the Trash Bot boss on a warehouse roof. Full strategy: how to beat the Trash Bot.

Story and Drilling Thunder

Achievement	How to unlock
Growlab champion	Complete all Grow Labs objectives inside Mining Island — Specimen Archive terminals, conveyor tutorial, elevator repair.
Chapter closed	Finish Builder Quest 8 and defeat the underground final boss. Walkthrough: final underground boss.
Deep drill	Refine rare metal from an underground vein using the ore processing chain.
Island arrival	Reach Mining Island via the coastal causeway during Quest 6.

Farming, food and exploration

Achievement	How to unlock
Farmer’s friend	Harvest 100 crops in one world. Automated farming speeds this after mid-game.
Surviving the storm	Wait out a desert tornado inside a shelter without taking damage. See weather and biomes.
Ruin raider	Fully clear five ruins and loot every crate.
Warehouse keymaster	Open three warehouses with keys. Guide: how to find warehouses.
Schematic collector	Scan 20 unique Schematics at the Schematicbot.

Creative Mode and misc

Several achievements unlock in Creative Mode without Survival progress:

• Place 100 unique block types in one creation.
• Wire 10 logic blocks to functional parts in one build.
• Paint 50 blocks with the Paint Tool.

Switch to Creative temporarily if you are one achievement short of 100% — achievements are account-wide on Steam once unlocked.

Efficient 100% route

1. Start fresh in 1.0 on Easy difficulty.
2. Follow Builder Quests 1–8 for story achievements.
3. Clear ruins along every road trip — doubles as schematic farming.
4. Build farm defence before wave 5 for Master of defence.
5. Beat Trash Bot and underground boss back-to-back after Quest 7 gear is ready.
6. Mop up combat counters during normal raids rather than dedicated bot farms.
7. Finish remaining Creative-only trophies in a blank Creative world.

Multiplayer notes

Achievement progress is per Steam account, not per world. In co-op, only the player who lands the killing blow on counted bots may get credit for some combat achievements — check the Steam community for patch-specific behaviour. Quest milestones sync for all players on dedicated servers.
